Drum Wrap Installation Guide

precision drum wrap

Whenever you order a drum wrap, the company shipping it will pack it tightly to save some bucks in shipping. Whether you want to use the wrap right away or not, you’ll have to unwrap it to let it unwind before installation. Just unwind the wrap and let it naturally straighten up.

There are many different guides out there which cover the installation of drum wraps in detail, but this installation is focused to help the beginners. So, after receiving the drum wrap you ordered from Rockskins Wraps, here are the steps you’ll want to follow for a seamless installation.

Prepare The Warp First

Drums have different shell depths in order to make them fit for different applications, that’s why drum wraps are made oversized to allow easy installation. You’ll have to trim the wrap to make it fit perfectly on the drum. You can easily measure the depth and mark the wrap before cutting it.

Once the wrap is cut in perfect shape, you should then put a strong double sided tape on its one end. You can use any strong tapes used for carpet installation.

Now Wrap The Shell

When installing, keep the seam towards yourself. You can also place the seam over a row of lug holes, so that they protect and conceal the seam.

You can then measure the wrap, roll it on the drum, and then cut it so that it aligns perfectly on the drum. Press and pull the wrap hard enough to make it fit tightly on the drum. Apply double sided tape to the other end as well and place it firmly where intended.

You can also follow the gluing method for your drum wrap, although that method turns out cleaner results, you’ll have to be an expert in order to not mess up that installation.
